From the artist:
I still don’t know if I chose glassblowing, or if it chose me. I just knew that the moment I walked into that studio and saw what was being created I had to be a part of it. Finding glassblowing felt magical like I was made for it. It provided something I lacked in my younger years. The urge to create, grow, and express myself through my work. To witness a person, handle molten glass, manipulate it, and form it as if it were water was amazing to me. I knew that I had to be a part of it.

Seconds are part of the charm of buying something homemade.
Our annual SECONDS SALE includes color tests, practice pieces from our design processes that are similar to the finished pieces, styles with minor imperfections, etc.
Each participating artist will be at their own table, so in addition to finding great bargains, you'll be able to meet and chat with the artists. And there will be live glass blowing.

We’re doubling down on the love this year and hiding 400 one-of-a-kind blown glass hearts courtesy of Barrio Glassworks throughout Carlsbad Village! That’s double the fun and double the chance to win amazing prizes.
Get ready for the ultimate treasure hunt on February 10-11, 2024. Search high and low through the heart of the Village to find these sparkling glass gems. If you discover one, make sure to register it on the Carlsbad Village Association website. You’ll be entered to win incredible prizes like a private glass blowing session at Barrio Glassworks. Stay tuned for details.
If the weekend slips by without any luck, stop into Barrio Glassworks studio and buy your own handmade heart. Be sure to ask for the “local’s discount”!
