Make Your Own

A Hands-On Glass Experience

Experience the movement and beauty of hot glass. A hands-on experience assisted by Barrio Glassworks team members. Friends and family are welcome to watch and photograph.

 

This is an introductory session to working in a hot glass studio by making your own unique solid object: glass paperweight or glass heart.  Once you complete this experience, additional lessons are available to create blown glass objects (bowls, vases, cups, etc.).

Individual sessions and groups of 2 - 5 can be booked online (links below), in person at the studio or by calling us at 760.696.3288.  Groups of 6 or more can be scheduled in person at the studio or by calling us at 760.696.3288.

Safety: When in the hot shop, closed toes shoes are required and loose hair must be tied back. Cotton clothing and long sleeves recommended. Ladies: For your comfort, no tank tops please. 

​

Finished pieces must cool and generally take 24-48 hours to properly anneal (cool).  Please allow 2 days before returning to pick up your beautiful hand made object. (Please note: We are closed Mondays). We can ship them to you.

​

For ages 10 and up.

​

Price: $85 per person (Non refundable deposit required to reserve the time slot**).

​

Schedule: Friday & Saturday (3:00-6:00), Sunday (10:00-5:00).

 

Groups of 6 or more can be scheduled at a mutually convenient time. (Please call 760-696-3288 or visit us in studio to book your appointment).

** - Reschedule/No Show: Since your booking is scheduled in advance, we can not refund for no shows or late rescheduling. If you need to modify this reservation or reschedule, we need at least 14 days advance notice to allow the opportunity for the time slot to be booked by another guest. If you reschedule 14 days or more in advance, your deposit will be transferred to the new booking.  If you need to cancel or make a last minute reschedule, the non-refundable deposit will be forfeited. Any credit card refunds that will be made are subject to $10.00 processing fee. Thank you for your understanding.
